These specifications apply to storage in warehouses or temporary site storage, with the purpose of preventing deformation, corrosion, and damage to the components.
Site Selection:
Ground must be level and firm: The site must be level, compacted, and free of water accumulation. Soft ground requires stabilization beforehand.
Good drainage: Ensure rainwater drains quickly and does not soak the components.
Accessible for handling: Sufficient aisles must be reserved to allow easy access for equipment like forklifts and cranes.
Elevation and Isolation:
Use of blocking is mandatory: All components (panels, transoms, decking, etc.) must be isolated from the ground using blocks (typically timber sleepers or concrete blocks), with a minimum ground clearance of 20-30 cm.
Purpose: To prevent moisture erosion from the ground, avoid contact with soil, and allow for bottom ventilation to prevent rust.
Layering and Stacking:
Sorted stacking: Components of different types and specifications should be stacked in designated zones and categories, with clear tags attached to avoid confusion.
Reasonable stack height:
Panels (Trusses): Preferably stored vertically (on their side), using dedicated racks or wooden wedges to prevent toppling. If horizontal stacking is unavoidable, stack no more than 5-6 layers high. Each layer must be separated by blocking, and blocks should be aligned vertically.
Transoms, Decking: Can be stacked horizontally in piles, but similarly require blocking between layers, with the support points aligned. Stack height should not exceed 1.2 meters to prevent deformation of lower components under excessive pressure.
Maintain stability: The entire stack must be stable, without leaning or shaking.
Corrosion Protection and Preservation:
Weather protection: For long-term storage, it is best to cover with waterproof tarpaulins, while ensuring ventilation space is left at the bottom to prevent internal condensation.
Regular inspection: Regularly inspect components for paint peeling or corrosion, and promptly perform maintenance such as touch-up painting.
