Inspection During Use And Periodic Checks

During the service period, inspections should focus on loose connections, rust development, and local deformation. Pins and bolts may loosen under load and vibration; therefore, their tightness should be periodically spot-checked. Grease should be applied around pin holes to prevent rainwater infiltration, which could accelerate corrosion. Special attention should be given to mid-span points, supports, and truss joints, as these locations are prone to member bending, weld cracking, or joint plate deformation under prolonged loading. For critical pins and beams, ultrasonic testing should be conducted every six months based on usage frequency to detect internal cracks. If significant rust progression is observed, remaining load capacity should be assessed through load testing or strain monitoring when necessary-reliance solely on visual inspection for continued use is not advisable.
