Phase 1 of Bailey Steel Bridge Site Engineering
Bailey Steel Bridge Construction Preparation and Site Survey: This is the foundation for ensuring the smooth progress of the project and is of paramount importance.
Technical Scheme Design:
Load Calculation: Determine the bridge span, width, and reinforcement scheme based on the maximum load of vehicles requiring passage (e.g., Truck-20, Crawler Tractor-50).
Drawing Preparation: Prepare detailed drawings including the bridge location layout plan, substructure drawings, superstructure assembly drawings, etc.
Construction Organization Design: Develop detailed construction plans, personnel and equipment schedules, progress schedules, and safety assurance measures.
Site Survey and Measurement:
Bridge Location Positioning: Precisely measure the bridge axis and the station numbers of the start and end points.
Topographic Survey: Conduct detailed surveys of the riverbed cross-section and the terrain of both banks to determine the locations of abutments and piers.
Geotechnical Investigation: Understand the bearing capacity of the foundation to provide a basis for the design of abutments and foundations. For shallow areas, simple foundations might be used; for rivers, pile foundations may be necessary.
Material and Equipment Preparation:
Component Inventory and Inspection: Check all components (Bailey panels, pins, transoms, deck panels, wind bracing rods, etc.) against the inventory list, inspecting for deformation, cracks, or severe corrosion.
Equipment Mobilization: Prepare necessary equipment such as lifting equipment (e.g., truck cranes, crawler cranes), transport vehicles, jacks, wrenches, sledgehammers, etc.
Site Leveling: Level the assembly area and access roads to ensure equipment can operate safely.
