There are two types of imported and domestically made Bailey beams. The domestic Bailey beams are made of 16 manganese steel for the truss, the pins are made of chromium-manganese titanium steel, the bolts are made of spring steel, the welding rod is made of T505X, and the bridge deck and guard wheel are made of pine or Chinese fir. The allowable stress of the material is increased by 30% according to the basic stress. When individual steel members exceed the above regulations, they must not exceed 85% of their yield point. The allowable stresses used in the design are as follows: Timber-along the grain bending stress, compressive stress and The compressive stress is 16.2 MPa; the shear stress along the wood grain is 2.7 MPa in bending. The modulus of elasticity E=98.5×105MPa. Steel material-16 manganese steel tensile stress, compressive stress and bending stress are 1.3×210=273 MPa; shear stress is 1.3×160=208 MPa. The tensile stress, compressive stress and bending stress of 30 chromium manganese titanium are 0.85×1300=1105 MPa; the shear stress is 0.45×1300=585 MPa. The existing imported Bailey beams are mostly products from the 1940s. The yield point strength of the material is 351 MPa. The allowable stress is 0.7×351=245 MPa. The allowable stress of the pin can be considered the same as that of the domestic pin.
